As a huge fan of Katamari Damacy this might be the cutest thing I’ve seen in a long, long time. It would be worth fathering a child just so I could make them wear one of these when we’re tooling around town.

Via a blog at the Boston Globe:
One of the most enduring taboos in American politics, the airing of graphic images from the September 11 attacks in a partisan context, died today. It was nearly seven years old.
The informal prohibition, which had been occasionally threatened by political ads in recent years, was pronounced dead at approximately 7:40 CST, when a video aired before delegates at the Republican National Convention included slow-motion footage of a plane striking the World Trade Center, the towers’ subsequent collapse, and smoke emerging from the Pentagon.
The September 11 precedent was one of the few surviving campaign-season taboos. It is survived by direct comparisons of one’s opponents to Hitler.

After watching Palin, Giuliani, and Romney speak last night it is clear they are not big fans of community organizers like Barack Obama. I saw this pithy response on a message board:
Jesus was a community organizer and Pontius Pilate was a governor.
Or how about another comment from Community Organizers Fight Back:
The last thing we need is for Republican officials to mock us on television when we’re trying to rebuild the neighborhoods they have destroyed. Maybe if everyone had more houses than they can count, we wouldn’t need community organizers. But I work with people who are getting evicted from their only home. If John McCain and the Republicans understood that, maybe they wouldn’t be so quick to make fun of community organizers like me.

I hope by wearing one of these I’ll feel cooler with the fact I’ve been doing yoga daily for the past year or so.

This is cool, and such a stupid simple yet useful idea. This site produces a visual that highlights which NFL games are going to be broadcast in each part of the country. They’ve taken the data they have and are using zoomable Google Maps. Here is a neat interview with the guy behind the idea.
