37signals new book REWORK was released a little more than a week ago. It is currently #3 on Amazon. In the top spot is Karl Rove’s new book Courage and Consequence, which he has been on TV for what seems like twenty hours a day promoting. In a wonderful display of humor the folks at 37signals and Coudal Partners wondered how they could complete with Rove and all his powerful friends booking him on every media outlet. Well of course they created an attack ad.

This is so hilarious and couldn’t happen to a “nicer” guy. Color of Change and StopBeck.com announced today  that the United Kingdom has forcefully rejected Fox News host Glenn Beck. In fact, the UK broadcast of his show was forced to run without any advertisements for five straight days in a row as of yesterday. And if that isn’t bad enough, 103 former advertisers have made public their intent  to halt all future advertising on his program.

The Nielsen Company announced today that TV viewing for the 2008-09 season reached a new high. Now the average American spends four hours and 49 minutes every day in front of the TV and the average household spends more than eight hours a day watching television.

However, this isn’t all good news for the big four networks (five if you count the CW), which actually saw a decline in viewers because we have so many other choices now via cable and the Internet. This is a 20 percent increase from just 10 years ago.
